Arcpod is a family business providing accounting and administrative assistance to resident anglophones since 2015 when James & Carol moved to France to build their eco house near Bessines-sur-Gartempe. Arcpod has since grown exponentially, now serving hundreds of satisfied clients from around 20 different countries of origin.

Arcpod is managed by James Bridgen, who has been described by one of his clients as

a beacon of efficiency in this otherwise hopelessly inefficient country (Angus, Charente).

He is a bilingual geographer who learnt French accounting practice and tax administration the hard way. He has banged his head against the wall of French bureacracy enough to know well what it feels like. He now holds the professional title of comptable assistant, having attained his accountancy diplôme for practicing in France. When not working he can usually be found in the garden or on his bike or in the midst of his latest construction project.

James is helped by Carol Rosewarne, who is also a qualified language teacher teaching French and English to private students both in person and online. Many of her students are Arcpod clients who use their professional training budget for paid-for French lessons (see Professionals). She is a passionate ecologist and vegetarian cook who can often be found tending her impressive potager.

Their son Monty is 9 and is the uncompromising boss of Arcpod. He likes Lego and Minecraft and doesn’t put up with any nonsense. Approach with caution…
